Everyone constructs a personal narrative to romanticize their emotional connection to a song or artist.

Powerman 5000: Automatic
I was uhhhh engaging in feats of strength with my girlfriend the other day and usually I’ll be a lot more deliberate about what's playing (if anything even at all) but she engaged me in the feats of strength before I had a chance to fix what was playing. When this song came on I froze up at first, realzing it wasn't appropriate for the mood lighting I use for feats of strength, but she was like “Is this Powerman 5000? I used to listen to them all the time when I was in high school!”

Powerman 5000: Neckbone
me: Do you want to write a guest note for one of my songs this week?
Devon: Uh yeah, I could do that.
I like yours better but sometimes I disagree and want you to write something else.
me: That's a perfect time to leave a comment you know.
But I don't always have an easy time doing writeups if only because I have so many to do.
So I have seven left for this week but I thought you'd be good for Neckbone.
Devon: wait? Neckbone?
I didn't know you had that
me: I got that.
Devon: I always thought you didn't like that album.
me: I got it late in the game.
In a used-CD store in Boulder CO on my move back east.
Devon: that is late, considering the whole rap rock thing was way dead at that point. But they always did it better than the Limp Bizkits and friends people anyway.
me: Well they had that good radio song in like 1999 which helped.
Devon: yeah you liked that album.
I remember that.
Space Metal
me: Always enjoyed a touch of space.
Devon: When does Scissorfight make it in?
