Barton Fink: Armed to the Teeth

me: What do you think of Barton Fink as related to the rest of the Coen Bros' canon?
Devon: I'm ashamed to say that I've only got one viewing of that movie under my belt.
And it was at the Tip
I know I need a few more.
me: Where does it stand with other Coen Brothers movies after first viewing?
Devon: well the thing is, between that and Man Who Wasn't There, they're the least fresh in my mind.
Like, I certainly remember the mood of Barton Fink but can't remember if it was funny and stuff.
I dont' remember the specific moods I felt throughout, just the overall tone.
I remember liking it but also thinking it was real weird. As with a lot of their films, I need a second viewing.
Lebowski didn't hit me the first time either. in fact, most of their movies don't. The ones that do, usually tend to be lower on the list for me.
me: I guess that's why they call it a way-homer.
